DESCRIPTION:

Must be able to perform all aspects of medical billing. Included but not limited to processing correspondence, payment posting, charge posting, patient accounts and insurance aging.

Urology, Oncology, Anesthesia and Ortho experience a plus.
NextGen experience a plus.
Type 45wpm
Minimum 1 year experience
Must have good oral and written communication skills
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? Must be able to perform all aspects of medical billing. Included but not limited to processing correspondence, payment posting, charge posting, patient accounts and insurance aging.

Enters data into department computer system
Obtain appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial forms
Communicates the collection policy and educates patients regarding financial responsibility
Collects co-pays and deductibles received at point-of-service and processes electronically
Performs outpatient registration for emergency room department
Performs various related clerical duties supporting department operations including but not limited to answering telephone, maintaining files, sorting mail, keeping inventory of supplies, and informing management of all activities, needs and problems


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma
MINIMUM intermediate Microsoft program aptitude (Word, Excel, Access)


This is a 3+ month assignment with possible extension and permanent opportunities.
