Brokerage Trading Associate

Responsible for timely & accurate 1) entering of equity, option, fixed income, and mutual fund trades on Pershing and other platforms from Financial Advisors (FAs) and external clients, 2) processing money market trades and client distribution requests and 3) working with Pershing Margin and/or Trading departments on Reg T extension, house calls or trade settlement issues. Associates are also responsible for reviewing Items for Attention and working closely with FAs to resolve outstanding issues. Associates should have an in depth working knowledge of the Pershing system and be able to resolve trade issues through their Pershing counterparts on a timely basis. Associates should be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers regarding their account information and activity. Associates are responsible for meeting compliance standards and protecting the assets of our customers through timely, accurate trade entry.


-Execute trade orders received from FAs and external clients

-Evaluate Time and Sale for best execution

-Daily interaction with clients and FA to explain account and trade activity

-Provide Trade Quotes   

-Maintain blotters of daily activity to satisfy compliance requirements

-Process and resolve Items for Attention

- Process items received in FileNet

-Follow up on NIGOs that prevent trade approval; address FAs inquiries timely

-Advise FAs on proper paperwork, product information, system training

-Deliver service level and operational excellence to internal and external customers as agreed to with Sales Managers.

-Train new FAs on Capital One Investing back office paperwork and processing requirements

-Effectively communicate with internal and external customers

-Manage risk and compliance for the trading function

Basic Qualifications:

- High School Diploma, GED, Equivalent Certification or Military Experience

- Currently active both the FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses

- At least 1 year brokerage experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- 1-2 years brokerage experience

- Active State Insurance License
