Within burn services we have 3 different areas/levels of care: Burn ICU- 20 beds, 3E (burn step down unit)- 16 beds and 4W burns (med-surg care unit for burn services)- 34 beds.
Burn services is a very busy and dynamic service line at Doctors Hospital. We have the capacity for 70 patients and our average daily census is about 65. We have over 150 nurses that are employed in burn services and we are always looking for eager and energetic nurses to join our team!

The role of the Registered Nurse is to supervise patient care administered by LPNs and MSTs. The registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Doctors Hospital. The RN provides general nursing care to patients in hospital and administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. The RN prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. The RN observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents. The RN records temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition to patient. The RN in 678 provides burn and wound care for patients. May make beds, bathe and feed patients. Registered Nurse in 678/Burn Center provides care for newborn/pediatric patients between 2 weeks to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. May rotate among various clinical services of hospital depending on staffing needs.Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
- Must hold a current license from the Georgia Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), (Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider card) required. ACLS required upon hire or within 1 year of hire; PALS required upon hire or within 18 months from date of hire.
