The Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) Product Focal is accountable for business development of the UTAS SHM product. The SHM Business Development Focal will report to the SIS Vehicle Health Business Development Manager and is the primary point of contact with potential SHM customers. The SHM product focal will work in concert with Customer Management/Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Contracts and Finance to identify new business opportunities, promote emerging technology implementation strategies, develop business proposals, and secure new customers contracts in support of UTAS's Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) initiatives. This individual will be responsible for development financial models to maximize return on company investment and forecast revenue projections associated with the SHM product. This role leads customer meetings to define proposal requirements and team meetings, and coordinates UTAS proposal team meetings and reviews.

Level of Responsibility:

  • Represents UTAS/Sensors & Integrated Systems as the primary point of contact for SHM product(s)
  • Accountable for creating/developing product strategies
  • Propose product solutions that support overall business win strategies
  • Assist in development of SIS strategic plan
  • Accountable for Customer communications regarding product/technology roadmap alignment
  • Ensure successful implementation of all product changes, including customer change management
  • Prepares and validates proposals for SHM products
  • Drive and validate technology roadmap alignment to voice of customer
  • Maximize reuse and promote technology roadmap
  • Product expert liaison for Customer and PLM

  • Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) product strategies
  • SHM product proposals
  • SHM product business cases to include ROI calculations and revenue forecast models
  • Customer satisfaction measures/Market Feedback Assessment
  • contract bookings for SHM product

  • 7-10+ years product management and/or aerospace business development experience.
  • Experience with technology development process
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
  • Experience with Commercial and Military Aerospace customers
  • Strategic leadership and execution
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • BA/BS degree w/7+ years experience
  • MA/MS degree w/5+ years experience; MBA preferred
  • PhD degree w/3+ years experience
