This position is responsible to manage and provide procurement related spend and inventory data; to implement, maintain and train on systems, reports and processes related to spend with external third parties.
This role is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Procurement related spend and related procurement and finance processes. The Incumbent will be responsible for contributing to and implementing decisions that has an impact on the overall success of the global strategic sourcing team.
The incumbent must have proven analytical skills with data analysis and research methods to answer/solve routine to medium complex requests.
The nature of the work is global and local in scope and the incumbent is expected to manage complex levels of project work in a matrixed work environment.
45% of Time - KPI and Dashboard Management
Create, manage, and maintain KPIs and dashboards for the overall Procurement function.
Analyze results and regular reporting at the department level to support excellence in Procurement performance and planning by identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement.
Implement special projects as assigned by Procurement Leadership Team.
Support ad hoc reporting requests on KPIs, spend and other metrics
Collect and communicate departmental category Insights and ensure such information is effectively incorporated into trackers and/or department Dashboard.
Provide compliance tracking on spend processes e.g. regarding payment terms, usage of approved spend mechanisms, etc.
40% of Time Spend Analysis and Category Intelligence
Provide detailed and aggregated spend and inventory data and analysis from various systems
Support ad hoc spend and inventory data requests Perform high level analysis to support category management strategy development as needed including category spend analysis, market and economic factors that impact key spend categories, trend forecasting, purchase price cost analysis and supply base risk identification.
Develop a broad base knowledge of Procurement's key categories and supply base (current and potential suppliers) to provide information to and perform market and economic factor analyses for category managers.
Create and continuously improve self-service tools and reports for team members to be able to gather spend and inventory information and break down to e.g. category, commodity, region, country, supplier etc.
Review sources of category intelligence for early warning on potential threats and opportunities
Provide input to supplier risk assessments as requested by Compliance and Risk Management including financial stability and business continuity.
Support the implementation of tools to consolidate, report and visualize spend and procurement related inventory data
Perform commodity price monitoring
Provide reporting support for CoE colleagues and all pillar leads
15% of Time Technology and Processes
Maintain Metrics Playbook
Support the development and maintenance of procurement business processes including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Leverage utilization of tools' reporting capabilities
SME (owner) of Direct, Indirect and Capital spend reporting processes and guidelines
•BA or BS required (Supply Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering preferred)
•Procurement qualification (e.g. CPSM, MCIPS) preferred
•1-3 years' experience in procurement category management preferred
•Advanced procurement systems skills using commercially available industry-leading/industry-standard procurement systems and tools for sourcing, spend management and contract lifecycle management (i.e., Ariba Sourcing Professional, eBreviate, Emptoris, Ariba Spend Visibility, Zycus iAnalyze, Coupa,) required
•Spend analytics experience gained in either a pharmaceutical company or in a mature consultancy/agency
•Experience with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Qlik)
•Solid ERP systems and procure-to-pay experience
•Computer literacy and good working knowledge of MS Office tools, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint
•Must have demonstrated problem solving/ troubleshooting skills
•Experience with project management and change management
•5 - 10% travel may be required
