The BI Manager is responsible for implementing Business Intelligence strategies and solutions to support the reporting and analytic needs of the Government Health and Human Services business unit of IBM Watson Health and its clients. This person will manage the day-to-day BI activities for the Data Warehouse Center of Excellence (COE). In addition to serving as the technical manager, the successful candidate will serve as the team's resource manager, including training and career development, skill development, employee engagement, and hiring.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as the primary representative for Data Warehouse BI initiatives, linking the BI team to all other groups within the organization
  • Drives all aspects of BI administration and operations

    • Resource Allocation
    • Team Goals and Objectives
    • Processes, Standards, Best Practices
    • Project Management
  • Builds and Manages a team of DW COE BI team members
  • Provides subject matter expertise and recommendations within the Business Intelligence domain for upper management
  • Must be grounded in product-agnostic BI Architecture
  • Works with account teams, customers and market-facing product managers to shape products and services for new opportunities within the markets
  • Gather requirements, create technical documentation, and provide work estimates
  • Manages the authoring of sophisticated Report Studio reports and dashboards based on multi-dimensional and relational data sources
  • Designs and creates complex framework manager models
  • Participates in architecture and design of Cognos and other BI solutions
  • Leads process improvements and breaks down barriers for the COE team
  • Manages the full development life cycle methodology and change management processes, ensuring changes are properly tested and implemented
  • Provides training, subject matter expertise, and guidance to less experienced staff members and client end-users
  • Interacts with internal and client end-users
