Current Need
Business Systems Analyst

Position Description
Under the direction of the Business Systems Analysis Manager, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for documenting system requirements on a continuous basis. This position is responsible for the designing of system requirements, gathering business rules and maintaining system documentation. 
The Business Systems Analyst will also work collaboratively with the IT leadership team and Clients (internal and external) to proactively identify, communicate and assist in implementation of system projects under our McKesson Change Management Policy. The Business Systems Analyst has ongoing responsibility to maintain a strong customer-service focus.
The Business Systems Analyst will monitor nightly batch processes, troubleshoot system issues, schedule/host meetings, create and present business proposals to IT and Client leadership.  
Other Business Systems Analyst duties include: change management compliancy, software design, software documentation, software development process, software requirements, analyzing information, software maintenance, creating reports, promoting process improvement, written communication of updates and meeting minutes.

An estimated 10% travel may be required. 

 

 

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

2+ years of business analysis, system analysis, product support or similar experience.

Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.

Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team.
Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.
Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Document detailed business requirements of systems necessary to administer policies in accordance with all rules, rates and guidelines as established by client management.
Articulate and confirm understanding of business requirements to IT developers.
Assist in the creation of test cases of all functionality for end to end system testing.
Assist with testing and documenting defects for resolution.
Perform quality checks to ensure accurate ongoing system functionality.
 



Additional Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid coverage and/or managed care experience preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio preferred.

Knowledge of Team Foundation Server preferred.

Experience with Trizetto Facets preferred.

Experience with InteGreat Practice Management/Care Coordination (IGPMCC) or similar application preferred.

Previous experience with Agile software development.

Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite including Access and Visio.

 Awareness of the customers' needs, business processes/workflow -Expertise in at least one McKesson business unit offering, including understanding of the business partner's desired roadmap -Awareness of industry issues & ability to translate them into simple solutions -Knowledge of supported systems within respective area -Understanding of implications of business requirements on the application(s)

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
