The Business Analyst collaborates with the business andother IT teams to analyze and design innovative solutions that are aligned withlong-term strategic plans.

The Business Analyst analyzes the organization's need,assesses and documents its processes and systems, and helps define the businessmodel and its integration with technology. The Business Analyst leveragesappropriate cross-functional expertise from the service management group,architecture, business experts and IT leadership to develop accurate cost,resource and time estimates for both initial development and ongoing supportfor a proposed solution.
The Business Analyst gains and maintains business processknowledge as it pertains to IT applications and processes to be able to partnerand advise the business on IT improvements, options and risks.
The Business Analyst is a key member of the businesspartnering team, and is a focal point of customer engagement for initiatives asassigned by the lead from a particular domain of expertise.
10-20% of Time - Strategic Partnering:
•Work with stakeholders to help them understand theirrequirements within the scope of a project
•Elicit requirements via brainstorming, analyzingdocuments, running focus groups, collecting input via surveys andquestionnaires, analyzing system interfaces, interviewing stakeholders andsubject matter experts, observing real-time activities and work environment,facilitating requirements workshops, or reverse engineering existing systems
50-70% of Time - Plan and Build:
•In collaboration with the business and other IT teams,analyze and design innovative solutions that are aligned with EnterprisePlatforms ITlong-term strategy
•Document and analyze business inputs, model the businessdomain (using process diagrams, flowcharts, and data models) and explorebehavior models (use case, user experience design, storyboards, wireframes,user profiles and user stories)
•In collaboration with data architects, develop necessaryinformation models
•Refine information models by working with the businessto develop data definitions, categorization and classifications
•Perform gap analysis, conduct feasibility studies andverify and confirm requirements
•Help Enterprise Platforms IT stakeholders select thesolution that best fits their requirements by using assessment tools,evaluating alternate solutions, determining quality assurance mechanisms, andcrafting and assessing an RFP
•Manage issues, risks and requirements; resolveconflicts; gain approval through governance processes and track requirementsthrough to business case approval
•Ensure that applications and systems are in compliancewith current and emerging regulations, including but not limited to thosedefined by cGMP's, FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11), EMEA regulations (Annex11), Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA
•Works with other departments to build systemintegrations with other applications and identify and recommend improvements toP2P processes, both within and outside procurement system (Coupa).
•Provide analysis of data elements within the ERP andprocurement systems, including master and transactional data
•Evaluate and recommend changes to improve effectivenessof procurement processes, including automated activities and integration withother applications
•Analyze data and translating business requirements intotechnical specifications
20-30%of Time - Run:
•Provide budgeting and forecasting data for support ofexisting systems, license requirements and projects in association withEnterprise Platforms IT stakeholders and IT leader
•Provide input and recommendations on system supportresource needs
•Bachelor's degree in information technology, computerscience, engineering, marketing and/or business administration (required)
•More than 5 years relevant IT/business experience,including project scoping, analysis, and documentation of business and technicalrequirements (required)
•Experience in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciencesindustry (preferred)
•Experience consulting or working in complex, globalmatrix organization (preferred)
•Technology background concerning operations and internalsupport (required)
•Experience with ERP systems SAP/JDE (preferred)
•Experience working with an eProcurement tool preferred(e.g. Ariba, SAP, Coupa)
•Data management and data interface experience with ERPand e-procurement systems (required)
Domestic travel; limited possible international travel
