Robert Half Strategic Accounts is assisting a Fortune 500 company with a Buyer Position in the San Jose Area. This is a long term opportunity with growth potential within the organization. To apply immediately please email your resume in Word format to Responsibilities • Initiates purchase orders and arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required. • Executes purchase plan and purchase requirements. • Coordinates shipments with suppliers and updates shipping schedules. • Monitors production plan to identify backorders and stock outs; Takes necessary action to ensure production is met and to minimize stock shortages. • Provides suppliers with 12-month moving forecasts. • Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities. • Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from management. • Answers internal questions relating to the availability of product. • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
