Our client, a large manufacturer with a nationwide presence and divisions located in Windsor, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Buyer to join their purchasing team! The Supply Chain Buyer position is a critical one to the supply chain department and is an immediate need. The Supply Chain Buyer obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders for the organization. This position reports directly into the Purchasing Manager as surrounds all facets of production planning and purchasing. The primary responsibilities of the position are as follows: Verifies purchase requisitions Manage MRP requirements Work closely with production planning, engineering and other levels of supply chain departments Resolve invoices discrepancies with cost and quantity Generate purchasing quotes for vendors Responsible for monitoring and placing purchase orders Scheduling deliveries and maintain on time delivery standards Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price Obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items Authorize payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience with commodities and new material set up and sourcing is also beneficial. MRP knowledge and prior experience; intermediate excel skills; strong communication and negotiation skills; working knowledge of SAP system.
