Buyer/Planner jobs in Austin, TX are available on a contract basis courtesy of Adecco Engineering & Technology. You will need solid English written and verbal communication skills. The main duties involve communicating with vendors and customers via phone and email to purchase the parts necessary for production while meeting deadlines. The base pay range for these positions is $45 to $60K.
Buyer/Planner job responsibilities include:
- Purchasing materials, components, equipment and services as well as ensuring the timely performance of our suppliers to meet the needs of our clients internal customers
- Negotiating major contracts for the purpose of major materials, components, equipment and services.
- Maintaining consistent, on-time materials flow to meet production schedules and/or customer requirements while minimizing inventory investment
- Planning activities involving production control, inventory control, process control, or shop floor control / material resource planning (MRP) integrity
Qualifications for Buyer:
Preferred certifications: APIC
Preferred skills: Oracle or SAP.
Preferred education: Bachelors Degree in related field.
Qualifications for Planner:
BS level degree or equivalent in business, purchasing, materials, supply chain management, distribution or related discipline.
Master Scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
