Camera System Engineer 2- Surface

Are you looking to join a dynamic team delivering video and imaging solutions? Microsoft’s Surface camera sub-system team is looking for a camera system engineer with excellent leadership skills to deliver video and imaging solutions. As a camera systems engineer you will evaluate camera components and own delivery of imaging features at a product level. You will work closely with internal and external imaging partners to deliver HW components, image processing algorithms and technologies to enhance the imaging experience for Surface products.

The camera system engineer is a member of the camera subsystem team consisting of other camera system engineers, camera module engineers, optical engineers, electrical design engineers and color scientists delivering image capture, processing and pipeline tuning. The ideal camera systems engineering candidate is an electrical engineer with formal training in image processing and with knowledge of CMOS image sensors, lenses and the imaging software stack.

Responsibilities include:

• Own delivery of camera features.

o Activities include: CMOS image sensor evaluation including development of evaluation processes, overseeing data collection and providing test reports; investigation of new camera sensor technologies in the RGB, IR and RGB+IR domains; providing engineering solutions in the IR and visible space solving customer experience and product requirements; work with partners to understand ISP capability of selected platforms.

Required skills:

• Working knowledge of image signal processing pipelines from either application or design experience.

• Working knowledge of CMOS image sensors and lenses

• Experience delivering CMOS camera components or subsystems for mobile devices
