The Markets Oversight Manager role for the Global SPDR ETF business is an exciting meaningful and highly transparent position within the Global SPDR Business. You will be responsible for leading SPDR ETF market quality oversight maintaining intraday communication with SPDR liquidity providers which includes market makers lead market makers and all dedicated ETF trading desks. In addition the team will provide dedicated SPDR market content to APs market makers and key market influencers. The role will also have global responsibility for all aspects of Authorized Participant oversight including onboarding new APs and ongoing due diligence of existing AP firms.
Additionally you will work with senior managers across the State Street Organization to lead groundbreaking initiatives as a project manager. These key initiatives will help to differentiate SPDRs in the highly competitive ETF industry. Role will require you to partner and collaborate with business leaders across State Street to improve AP oversight governance expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Managing Director Head of Markets Oversight you will report to Dave Lavalle Head of US Capital Markets and will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage dynamic team within SPDR Capital Markets
- Monitor daily SPDR ETF Market quality to ensure spread integrity
- Maintain daily communications between SPDRs and all SPDR ETF liquidity partners which includes SPDR AP firms ETF market makers SPDR Lead Market Makers and all dedicated ETF trading desks
- Establish key market metrics for SPDR products
- Oversee launch of comprehensive suite of trade analytics
- Lead key cross functional strategic initiatives by taking on role of project manager
- Spearhead business wide initiatives and strategic projects that improve SPDR business operations
- Build reciprocal working relationships across key SPDR internal partners
- Assist in development of a global risk oversight program
- Establish metrics and implement a mechanism to track successes of each key SPDR Capital Markets Group critical initiative
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of markets experience with considerable attention relating to risk management
- Ability to lead cross functional projects
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with executive leaders from across the business
- Capacity to define and develop overall operational transformation strategies and step by step detailed project plans
- Ability to influence including more senior executives to ensure SPDR initiatives remain on track
- Highly motivated dedicated ability to work on team
- Detail oriented with ability to focus and multi-task during fast-paced work environment
- Strong written verbal and social skills
- In depth Knowledge of ETF business and proven understanding of ETF ecosystem advanced
- Strong computer skills including Power Point
- Strong working knowledge of overall securities industry ability to have meaningful conversation with trading community (equity or fixed income trading preferred)
- FINRA Series 7 and 63
