Essential Functions/Duties:
  • Interacts with physicians, staff, patients and family to develop and implement the plan of care
  • Performs basic-level interrogation and programming of cardiac rhythm management, monitoring and/or recording devices in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and physician ordered operational parameters
  • Conducts post-device activation surveillance and functional checks via direct patient contact, as well as, trans-telephonic and other remote technologies
  • Performs periodic data downloads and makes device adjustments per prescribed protocols
  • Provides pre, peri and post-operative device management upon request
  • Ensures the proper labeling of acquired data from all device types/modalities
  • Communicates device interrogation findings and programming adjustments to the ordering physician and other members of the care team as appropriate
  • Provides individualized patient/family education specific to the type of device ordered
  • Ensures device data is documented and maintained per department policy
  • Makes recommendations for improving processes and quality of services
  • Performs non-clinical support tasks and other departmental duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: • Associate Degree in Nursing with 1-year experience in a direct patient care or health-care related technology and services field Note: • Nursing staff must have graduated from a State and/or nationally approved school with a fully accredited training curriculum Experience: • Experience in a Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Exercise Physiology Lab or related health-care setting preferred Certifications/Licensure/Registrations: • BLS certification required for all direct patient care positions
  • PALS and ACLS certification required within 12 months of employment based on care area
• Successful completion of basic rhythm recognition course within 90-days of employment • Possession of a valid temporary license or permanent license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nurse Registration and Nursing Education as a registered nurse prior to entrance on duty (permanent license must be obtained within 3 months of appointment)
