CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (CDP) Overview:

The Career Development Program (CDP) is designed for Masters students specializing in Human Resources. Individuals with 0-10 years of experience will be considered.

The purpose of this rotational program is to allow employees to gain experience in various areas of the company. While on the program, participants develop their human resources and professional skills as well as get a better understanding of their areas of interest and strengths. The program consists of three rotations in three different departments with 12-month durations. Typical assignments are:

Operations

A rotation in Operations will provide you with a broad overview of the organization from the perspective of the HR Business Partner (HRBP) and the client groups to which they support. The role of the HRBP is to develop and implement human resource strategies and activities to help achieve the business objectives for their respective client group. In this rotation, you will learn the art of serving as both an employee and management advocate. You will learn how the HRBP helps to contribute to the profitability of the business by developing and supporting organizational development and alignment through both organization restructuring and the integration of functions and groups. You will be chartered to lead/facilitate/initiate needed culture change and reinforce change through the selection, compensation and promotion decisions. For the client groups that you support you will provide functional leadership in the areas of employee development, performance managements, organization effectiveness, diversity and inclusion and position evaluation.

Compensation and Benefits
A rotation in Compensation and Benefits will be largely based in ongoing projects for both organizations. These projects will encompass a wide variety of related fields such as executive compensation research, compensation surveys and planning, fringe benefit analysis and pension plan review. Throughout this rotation, you will learn to work with a number of services and technologies - which Air Products relies upon to produce meaningful data - and then be tasked with interpreting and displaying this information in a useful manner. The nature of this work will be very real time allowing you to gain firsthand experience on how the Compensation and Benefits organization directly affects the company and it reacts to decisions made by Air Products' various business groups.

Diversity & Inclusion
A rotation in Diversity & Inclusion will provide you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the need to foster a diverse workforce and inclusive workplace to support the demands of the global marketplace. You will have the opportunity to work on current projects that will integrate elements of workforce analytics, talent acquisition, communications, change management and learning and development to deliver solutions to the businesses and functions. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our Employee Resource Groups and Regional D&I Councils, participate in the development and/or delivery of a training workshop, prepare communications materials for use across the company, and interact with at least one of our external diversity partners. D&I work requires a high degree of collaboration and the ability to lead through influence and therefore offers a tremendous opportunity to build these critical skills, as well as your internal and external network.

Learning and Development
A rotation in Learning and Development will enable you to work on a team consisting of learning professionals based in the Americas, Asia and European regions. Being that the team is global, you will have a unique opportunity to build an international network. During your rotation, you can expect to work on various projects designed to develop the best employees by building skills that produce observable results. Your projects will revolve around current development initiatives, including but not limited to, taking ownership in certain course offerings to drive engagement within the organization. This experience will challenge you to strategically explore innovative approaches to learning to provide our employees with the most current approaches to development. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to assist our team in delivering crucial training classes, including our Management Fundamentals Program (MFP), a year-long class to develop new managers within Air Products.

Talent Acquisition
A rotation in Talent Acquisition will give you the opportunity to interface with various facets of Air Products and grow your knowledge of our many businesses. Working as a recruiter, you will be primarily responsible for sourcing, reviewing and evaluating candidates while facilitating the interview experience for positions both at our Allentown, PA headquarters and numerous plant sites across the United States. While this will serve as the main scope of your rotation, you will also have the chance to work on a variety of other projects including creating quarterly metrics for the Talent Acquisition organization, assisting the University Relations team in their annual recruiting efforts, serving as the lead contact point for various Air Products scholarship programs and running the Air Products Careers Social Media websites. Through this diverse set of experiences, you will build the perfect foundation for your career in Human Resources here at Air Products.
