The Role

This leader will serve as the Branch Experience Planning Leader for Community Banking, and will lead a team responsible for developing the strategy for ensuring our branch team members are successful and then supporting the execution of that strategy. Includes ensuring team members have simple processes, user-friendly tools, clear expectations, great coaching. This role will partner with HR to ensure our branch team members have excellent training , onboarding, and great development. This role will also ensure that our branch team members’ voices are heard and incorporated into all we do in Community Banking.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop the overall approach and framework to enable branch team member success
  • Develop business processes and tools to enable branch TM success. Own/Lead/Maintain team member focused processes. Includes creating processes (leveraging field feedback), documenting processes, being voice of Community Banking for needed tools, improving processes/tools over time . Processes led include, but are not limited to:
    • Coaching processes
    • Huddles
    • Assess and Deploy meetings
    • Supporting the teller line
  • Understand and represent the consolidated voice of our branch team members to various partners both within and outside of Community Banking
  • Partner with HR on HR solutions to enable branch team member success (training/development, coaching, recognition, rewards, hiring, performance management, and onboarding)
  • Lead Job Family Advocates
  • Serve in business leadership role on performance management and rewards, closely partnering with HR/Compensation.
  • Lead surveying team members on a number of business topics to get their ongoing input on processes, tools, success of implementations, etc.
  • Create the new team member onboarding experience, partnering with HR, leveraging enterprise tools
  • Partner with L&D to ensure we have exceptional new hire and ongoing training for Branch team members
  • Create weekly huddle guide content
  • Lead strategy, approach and tools around field implementation, field support and change management (in partnership with HR)

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have success in building and leading a high performing, industry-leading customer focused teams in the financial services industry. This executive will have experience leading a best in class organization leveraging highly disciplined business, financial, operations, credit and risk management processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 5+ years of management experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of Retail Banking & Financial Services business lines, products and services
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, create and manage (while achieving results) large-scale change and influence people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have strong relationship management and proven leadership skills, with solid conflict management, negotiation and organizational effectiveness techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a heavily matrixed organization with a high degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight
  • Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching and motivating team members through balanced leadership with a focus on team member engagement and retention and performance management
  • Ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically to senior and executive leaders and simplify the complex.
  • Proven success building and maintaining strong credible relationships with key stakeholder groups including executive management, regulatory examiners and internal auditors.


San Francisco, CA; Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; any major Wells Fargo hub location will be considered.
