  • Performs all functions of SPD Technician.
  • Read, understand and comply with all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Works with all Hospital departments concerning instruments needs.
  • Works closely with OR Charge Nurse to monitor OR Schedule to prioritize instruments processing needs.
  • Responsible for supervising SPD Staff, acts as a resource, preceptor, and quality control agent.
  • Assures supplies are ordered as needed.
  • Responsible for assuring proper mechanical cleaning and biological testing of al Steam Autoclaves, System 1 Steris , 444 and Sterrad.
  • Knows the functions, use, maintenance and safety precautions of all department equipment.
  • Reports to OR Charge Nurse or SPD/Resource Coordinator
Shift Responsibilities
  • Assign resources and staff to meet unit needs
  • Verify all logs/documentation complete
  • Monitor instrument set configuration for accuracy
  • Monitors Decontamination Process

Required: Minimum one-year sterile processing experience.

Required: Certified in Sterile Processing.
