Key Responsibilities
    1. Evaluates technical requirements of new and existing products. Applies knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to Design Engineering, which would result in savings, lead time reductions, system improvements, ease of manufacturing, increased life and/or mitigated risk.
    2. Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
    3. Participation with New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
    4. Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
    5. Leads the supplier technical audit process and evaluates supplier performance and capability, drive continuous improvement opportunities at supplier. Training of other supplier engineers on the supplier audit and evaluation process.
    6. Leads quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root cause and correction action. Identifies and drives broad based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
    7. Assist in cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers, supply markets, to ensure a competitive advantage.
    8. Assist Engineering by challenging existing manufacturing methods to recommend and develop a more cost effective and/or more reliable products that will improve our competitive position
Functional Knowledge
  • Regarded as the technical expert in the following technical areas
    • Materials science and engineering of various ceramic materials, such as alumina, quartz, graphite, SiC, etc.
    • Fabrication and manufacturing of semiconductor components made of various ceramic materials and quartz.
    • Coatings on ceramic materials
    • Cleaning of various ceramic materials, quartz and ceramic/quartz parts with coatings
  • Demonstrates in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function
    • Material analysis and characterization as well as surface analysis of ceramic materials/quartz
    • Failure analysis for structural integrity of ceramic materials/quartz

Education: Bachelor's Degree a must (Advanced degree, such master or Ph.D. preferred)

Experience: 10 - 15 Years
