3M is seeking a Channel Marketing Supervisor for the Industrial Business Group's Industrial & Safety Markets Center division located in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Industrial & Safety Markets Center (ISCM) Channel Marketing Supervisor will collaborate with National Sales Manager, Product teams from many 3M Divisions, Business Analysts, Marketing Communications, Business Services Analysts, Digital Marketing Organization (ICMO), Industrial Customer Marketing Organization (ICMO) and Converter Marketing and Product teams to develop and grow 3M sales to and through Converter Channel. Develops and activates Converter Channel Marketing plans for the Converter Channel. Increase 3M capability to market our portfolios to and through Converter channels and industrial market segments. This role enables 3M to better align resources with priority distributors towards reaching end users and ensure priority channel POS, analytics & insights roadmap attainment.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Leads marketing efforts through Converter Channel for 3M ISMC Sales District. Participate in monthly virtual meetings with certified converter specialists supporting our Preferred segment of Converters centered around 3M initiatives. In addition, communicates with key stakeholders on channel development, business status, action plans to drive growth, share best practices, and resolve business challenges. Leverage six sigma tools to establish the current state of channel segmentation, maturity and capabilities to inform our market development path forward.

Develop marketing strategy and operational plan collaboratively with ISMC, 3M division, and ICMO stakeholders to advance the business needs of various 3M Divisions and the growth targets of the ISMC. Working collaboratively, this role works across the matrix within 3M to align priorities and translates them into business development and growth opportunities with Converters.

Design integrated marketing plan to grow 3M portfolio through online presence and other customer touchpoints for Converter Channel. Requires working knowledge of ecommerce, online marketing and demand generation and field based sales model to be successful.

This role leads and influences in 3M product management and channel marketing teams within 3M to grow 3M Sales through converter channel. Implements portfolio optimization with converter partners derived from collaboration with 3M channel team who will work with 3M divisions, 3M Business Analyst, 3M National Sales Manager, ICMO and the Converter channel partner to scale impact. This person will also share best practices for new product launches within Converter markets consisting of new product induction, and omni channel launch marketing plan. Collaboratively Planning the promotion of 3M products through Converter channel partners ISMC Converter Sales Representatives using Converter programs and omni channel outlets is a critical element of this role. This requires the ability to navigate the 3M matrix and the matrices within distribution to achieve desired growth.

Develop and communicate Converter channel segmentation in collaboration with Channel Marketing Leader, National Sales Manager and Channel Operations Manager. Leverage ICMO insights team to pull together market data to inform criteria and outputs. Leverage six sigma tools to filter through data and segment channel partners to optimize 3M's market approach

Advises on spend of the marketing development funds in accordance with the Converter Channel go to market models. This role works with the ISMC Channel Leaders to spend budget dollars, growth rebates, and share gain incentives to drive growth for 3M. The budget will be maintained and reviewed on a regular basis by this candidate. This role must follow proper 3M procedure to procure goods and services using MDF funds.

Influences the development and implementation of functional and cross-functional marketing projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans through Converter Sales Team, Certified Specialist, and 3M inside channel sales. Develop and drive marketing efforts through common platforms supporting growth programs, (Such as "3M Rewards") driving new business growth through Converter channels. Drives communication on project direction and marketing and status to all stakeholders.

Demonstrates best practices around analyzing and measuring business results from ship to and Point of sale data. Develop standard CRM reports and dashboard for channel conversions and new business growth opportunities. Leverages business analysis on a regular basis to gauge the success of marketing programs, new product launches and inductions, and portfolio diagnosis. In addition, looks at business by sales in divisions and market segments to ensure we are maximizing our business opportunities best practices with the Converter Markets channel.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Minimum of five (5) years of marketing or sales experience working within 3M division or market center model
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Converter Markets business model experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with category management including POS and practical analytics
  • Digital marketing experience including content syndication and ecommerce
  • Digital Marketing Experience
  • Marketing or Business Administration Degree
  • Channel Marketing experience
  • Strong presentation/communication skills
  • Works collaboratively and pro-actively with minimal supervision
  • Has the ability to multi-task working through matrixed teams
  • Able to present to all levels of management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven collaboration, networking across BG, division lines for seamless coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to execute digital marketing from concept to measurement
  • Organization change & stakeholder acceptance
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Trained

Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: Up to 30%
Relocation: Is authorized within country per 3M policies
