If so, keep reading, as the Microsoft Store team is hiring a Channel Strategy Lead to drive Store’s paid media strategy and performance management focused on driving maximum ROI from our global paid media budge.
The core function of this role is to develop the media strategy, learning plan and optimization processes for driving efficiencies and results across all paid channels, and across all our priority products/categories. You will work in close partnership with Microsoft’s Global Ads Demand Gen team who lead media management and all execution with our global agencies.
The ideal candidate will have passion in following areas: media strategy and innovation, data driven decision making, turning insights into action, driving measurable business impact, building a customized Advertising and Marketing tech stack and ROI. They will have experience in identifying accurate reporting that maps to processes for data quality, management, and integration with the buying/planning, demand generation/ATL, and analytics team.
The ideal candidate will help establish best practices for ingesting data from media systems and site-side analytics systems for holistic end to end performance evaluations that feed weekly status call. They’ll support Media strategy where needed, guiding planning/buying teams and their respective agencies to author/build/execute campaigns to achieve business results/goals. They will support new processes for full funnel offers/messaging within core campaigns, seasonal initiative’s and long-term planning efforts as a result of feeding customer journey for all applicable store products.
The successful candidate has the following capabilities and mindset:
•Media led, with customer focus; You have experience and understanding of the customer journey, leveraging digital scale while continued optimization of media and channels to drive efficient actions across the customer experience and purchase / re-purchase funnel.
•Data driven; You drive for deep understanding of ROI and impact across everything you do. You are comfortable pushing on the solutions and approaches to measurement strategy and attribution. You think holistically about the results of your work. You establish best practices for ingesting data from media systems and site-side analytics systems for holistic end to end performance evaluations that feed weekly status calls. You understand how to leverage data to drive insights and optimizations. You can partner effectively with data science and analytical teams to define and oversee the ongoing expansion of the data and insights we can capture.
•Digital Innovation; You are comfortable and conversant in digital technologies and measurement approaches, showcasing you as an exceptionally digital marketer who combines a true passion for new technologies and customer engagement trends to meet goals. You can provide Omni-channel expertise as it pertains to Integrated Media and eCommerce.
•Test and Learn is inherent; You are adept at developing and driving a test-and-learn plan that helps drive the most impactful mix of tactics (promotions, offers, etc.) with paid media. You pilot new technologies and lead the charge to find powerful new digital ways to engage our customers.
•Your actions embody “We win as a team” ; Finally, and most importantly, your actions reinforce our organizations core value in partnership and collaboration. This means you are a strong partner and collaborator, contributing where and when needed, sharing in the celebration, and driving and owning accountability in the learnings along the way.
The successful candidate should have:
•7+ years paid digital marketing experience.
•Emphasis on strategy, execution and optimization ownership
•Developing and managing digital media plans and budgets. Forging and managing efficient, successful agency (internal or external) relationships.
•Strong creative and analytical thinking; ability to create test and learn plans, measure incremental results, identify opportunities.
•Ability to extract insights to inform product, marketing, and campaign recommendations.
•Experience managing business metrics where his/her actions have direct impact on the business goals.
•Highly collaborative and able to work across multiple stakeholders and partners across the globe.
•Strong strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action.
•Project management skills to prioritize and drive initiatives forward.
•Excellent verbal, written and presentational skills with a focus on tangible, measurable recommendations.
•Highly accountable, driven success in a fast-paced environment, experience working in global roles.
•Experience in retail and ecommerce a plus
