Experience: 3 years as a Registered Nurse, minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nurse in related area.
3 years experience as a staff nurse preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current license in GA. Completion of or actively pursuing
BSN degree preferred.

1. Coordinates daily unit operations in collaboration with other members of the patient care team
Supports the facility ICARE Mission, Vision/Values through a positive interaction with staff, physicians, patients,
Locates & interprets hospital policies & procedures to physicians, nursing staff, patients, visitors, & other hospital
Completes patient & employee notification reports within 24 hours of incident
Collaborates with admissions & ED to ensure prompt & appropriate patient placement.
Maintains complete staff/patient assignment records 100% of the time. Assigns staff according to staff abilities &
skills and the patient acuity level.
Participates in performance improvement activities every month.
Facilitates student/preceptee and preceptor assignments and learning opportunities
Facilitates cohesiveness of the patient care team.
2. Manages unit personnel activities
Ensures completion of daily staffing sheets
Collaborates with unit director and nursing supervisor to plan staffing needs
Sets priorities for the unit; coaches the team to ensure successful completion of tasks
Provides input for the completion of unit schedules.
3. Actively promotes positive intra & interdepartmental activities of the unit
Serves as a resource to the patient care team on clinical problems, clinical skills, patient teaching, & the
use of hospital equipment.
Coordinates intra-unit and inter-facility transfers of patients
Exercises appropriate independent judgment. Performs efficiently in an emergency.
Gives concise report to on-coming charge nurse, including responses to intervention, pending tests, diagnostic
result, and areas requiring follow-up.
Facilitates interdisciplinary discharge planning by identifying needs, assisting with discharge teaching, and
coordinating the activities of other services
4. Ensures that patient care needs are met in a competent and timely manner
Verifies physicians are informed of significant information
Collaborates with other health care professionals regarding unusual situations and seeks assistance as indicated.
Evaluates care plans for initiation, individualization, and daily updates.
Assists in delivering direct patient care and carries a patient assignment as needed.
Assures nursing interventions are performed & recorded, according to policy & procedures
