3M is seeking a Chemical Processor for the Industrial Business Group located in Cordova, IL. The position of Chemical Processor will be responsible for
but not limited to the following specific duties:
This position will require:
- Charging and operating mechanical and chemical processes
- Calculating adjustments to bring batch into specification
- Following any chemical process (reactions, distillations, drying, etc.) as specified in the instructions
- Responsible for the operations necessary to make a quality product such as cleaning, charging, checking raw materials., checking instrument settings and accuracy
- Recording all pertinent data
- Maintaining neat, orderly and safe conditions in area
- Working a twelve (12) hour rotating shift
- Weekend work
- Working overtime
- Working on holidays as needed
Physical Effort: Moderate to high physical exertion, performs such activities as handling medium to heavy materials at an intermittent pace, required to stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, climb stairs and ladders, push/pull heavy pallets and drums, lift up to 50 pounds. On occasion, lifting can exceed 100 pounds with the aid of a second person or lifting device. High visual and manual dexterity required for reading dials and gauges and manipulation of dials, valves, levers, and handles. Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating equipment.Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- A minimum of one (1) year manufacturing experience

Qualified applications will be considered when Chemical Processor openings occur at 3M Cordova Plant for up to six months of the posting of this requisition.
*Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
