3D for Everyone Chief of Staff
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to play a critical role on a studio leadership team within the Windows and Devices Group (WDG) as we work to bring the next generation of new and innovative products to market as we work to bring 3D for Everyone. Reporting directly to the studio GM, this is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned and proven cross-functional leader to drive communication, people and organizational planning and the operating rhythm of our studio team.
As the Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for driving a variety of programs. Close partnership with leaders and organizations outside of your immediate team will be necessary as you will compile data and information that will influence decisions at a senior level. As a member of the leadership team, you will be directly responsible for driving management functions, including helping the leadership team and the organization to ensure maximum effectiveness, communication, and an efficient Rhythm of the Business (ROB). This role works alongside the studio General Manager and interacts on a regular basis with studio mangers in Redmond, London and Vancouver, Canada. You will have exposure to WDG and cross company executive leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to gain insight into business strategies, product development and practices. You will partner with the studio leadership team to align the appropriate resourcing to strategy. You will be responsible for structuring studio engagement, leadership team meetings, recruiting processes, budget management and all organizational communications and events as well as ensuring readiness and prep for key exec engagements.

Extremely important is the ability to collaborate across teams and organizations to drive for results combined with professionalism and business acumen. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with strong programmatic and project management skills to expand their experiences and develop a broad set of proficiencies including people management/development, influencing, visibility into product development from incubation to production, global program execution, executive communications, strategy development and team and organizational development.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity hone and develop your management and influencing skills working with both an outstanding direct and indirect team. Given the nature of our work, there are often long hours and the ability to be flexible is paramount.
Key priorities of the role include: representing and speaking on behalf of the studio GM in cross-Microsoft and client forums. Drive Annual People & Org Planning Operating Rhythm – including leadership meeting agendas, facilitation, and team all-hands meetings. Assist in communications and knowledge sharing across the studio: build and champion internal SharePoint and knowledge dissemination. Working in partnership operations teams (including finance and human resources), publish and present core reports, such as budget and resources/staffing that include core analytics and insights. Lead program and project management for cross organization people initiatives such as Performance & Development, Enhancing Leadership Team effectiveness through driving the Rhythm of the Business, setting effective meeting and offsite agendas, strategy development, annual team feedback planning, community building, and communications. Act as trusted resource to the studio GM in presentation preparation on a variety of topics for a variety of internal and external audiences, including Microsoft senior executives and press.

10+ years of progressive experience in an operationally or project management focused role, ideally with global experience, proven people management and development experience including leading virtual teams.
Successful experience working with senior stakeholders and leaders.
Demonstrated Project/Program Management experience.
Demonstrated competency in the areas of Cross Group Collaboration, Organizational Agility, Analytical Thinking, and Communication skills.
Strong written, presentation, and verbal communications at the executive level.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure, with multiple deliverables, in short time constraints.
Strong organizational skills, a customer service orientation and excellent execution and follow through skills.
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to change rapidly in response to business conditions.
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field, or equivalent preferred.
