The Child Life Specialist is responsible for assessing the developmental and psychosocial needs of pediatric clients/families, and plans and implements therapeutic interventions and an in-patient and outpatient basis. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
B. Education: Graduate of an accredited College/University with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education, psychology, human development or other related field, and successful completion of 400 hours internship in child life program.
C. Experience: Previous experience preferred with basic understanding of children's illnesses, medical terminology and supervisory skills.
D. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate and interact with pediatric and adolescent population and their families. Proficient in knowledge of growth and development of the pediatric population.
