The NICU Clinical Nurse Educator functions autonomously and in collaboration with the health care team in advanced clinical practice, education, consultation, research and leadership roles. Promotes teamwork, collaboration and innovation within a multi-disciplinary Critical Care environment. Operates within the scope of their practice as outlined by the California State Board of Nursing.

  • Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university
  • MSN preferred

License/ Certifications :

  • Current California RN license
  • BCLS Certification
  • NRP Instructor (6 month grace)
  • Specialty Certification (RNC-NIC) preferred.


  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in Level 3 or 4 NICU
  • Experience in managing complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with individuals in stressful situations using counseling techniques and/or crisis management skills.
  • One year recent teaching experience preferred.
