Clinical Pharmacist, Part-time
West Florida Healthcare is proud to offer all private rooms to our patients. Our facility is the area's only Atrial Fibrillation Certified hospital and was the area's first Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. We are also an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The West Florida Healthcare campus includes the all private room acute care hospital, a mental health facility, and the area's only CARF-accredited, comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital. West Florida Healthcare offers major services in cardiology/cardiovascular surgery, oncology, neurology/neurosurgery, orthopedics, emergency care, behavioral health, obstetrics, rehabilitative medicine and many other medical specialties.
Provides and oversees the day-to-day services provided by the Pharmacy Department with individual responsibilities for the Medication System and tasks related to selection, procurement, storage, ordering, transcribing, preparing, dispensing and monitoring drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, allergies, appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, renal dosing, and IV to PO conversion, and appropriate documentation. Provide medication information to healthcare staff, pharmacokinetic dosing, assistance with technical duties, and dispensing services. Maintain controlled substance records, prioritize work appropriately, and supervise support staff. Assist in training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians. Additional time will be spent providing clinical pharmacy services.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred
Current and Active Florida Pharmacist license required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
Two (2) years' hospital experience preferred.
