As part of the NACIS team and reporting to VP of Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions, The Cloud Architect is responsible for delivering the technical architecture and implementation of innovative cloud transformations across the Oracle solution ecosystem. This strategic leadership role focuses on Oracles top tier customers who are looking to modernize and transform their infrastructure and application portfolio to an IaaS/PaaS and SaaS converged architecture model. This individual is responsible for helping prospects and customers by demonstrating detailed technical knowledge of Oracle's IaaS and PaaS solutions, how they integrate with a customer's on-premise architecture, and paths to migrate workload from an on-prem current state to a hybrid / public cloud future state.

This individual possesses superior executive communication skills, ability to work in a dynamic virtual environment and has a broad range of technical and interpersonal skills that scale from line managers to C-Level Executives. This individual should have experience leading solution design and implementation of Oracle technologies such as the Database, Middleware, and Engineered Systems platforms. Strong understanding of competing public cloud platforms and their advantages/disadvantages as compared to Oracle's cloud solutions is desired. Previous experience as a sales engineer, sales consultant, or billable consultant is desired.

Responsibilities include:
Innovation & cloud thought leadership
Lead complex technical architecture engagements based on Oracles converged Infrastructure solutions - gather requirements, design solutions, deliver architecture in a 'ready to implement state
Ability to understand a customer's current state of on-prem technology and map how this architecture can be translated to a hybrid or public cloud model
Map customer's Oracle technology portfolio to the corresponding cloud solution / product
Ability to map technical features and solutions to business value, working with a business analyst to quantify such value in real $

Assist customers in determining the technical value of Oracle's cloud offerings, including but not limited to how cloud features accelerate innovation across an enterprise
Manage internal and external constituents through a structured pre-sales consulting engagement
Drive issues to closure and gain agreement on next steps towards closure of a process.
Communicate engagement status among multiple constituents.
Participate in multiple engagements while maintaining focus on results.
Help drive customers towards innovative strategic thinking that drive business results
Create assets and artifacts that provide a representation of the Solution for discussion (reference architecture, current state, future state, migration path)
Manage a virtual team (internal and external) to deliver a compelling vision of our platform solutions
Develop workshop plans and content to meet specified need and objectives
Facilitate workshops with a cross-group of senior personnel
Synthesize workshop outputs into deliverable propositions with clearly articulated ROI.
Significant travel, both to customer sites and other Oracle offices, will be part of this role.

Strong technical background with Oracle technologies such as database, middleware, apps, engineered systems

Implementation Services experiences - billable consulting or sales consulting/engineering
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to map new technologies to customer requirements and business problems
Excellent situational awareness - must be comfortable in dynamic customer environments and able to present our company well.

Ability to develop workshop plans and content tailored to meet the specific Customer needs and objectives balanced with Oracle objectives
Ability to lead the synthesis of workshop outputs into sell-able plans and propositions
Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
