**Job Description:** In this role, you will be responsible for creating the foundational automation tools for our Big Data Cloud offer. This team creates Big Data solutions in relation to IaaS, PaaS, containers, configuration management, and more. As an automation Architect, you will provide guidance, code examples, and coaching to the development team on techniques to best enable our platform. Specific responsibilities will include the following: + Engage and collaborate with Big Data IaaS, PaaS and SAP teams to understand (and influence) requirements + Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact + Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives + Facilitate, lead and/or participate in identification of solution options and features + Architect and communicate solution options to cross functional teams and to end customers + Lead and be an active member of small Scrum teams of developers to build the required solutions + Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, compute, storage, network) into conceptual designs + Ensure alignment with Virtustream technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans) + Create automation workflows on the OpenStack and xStream platforms + Deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget + Help build a solid, reliable and scalable engineering culture that drives continuous and robust automation + Drive DevOps model adoption + Build and maintain processes and tools for deployment, monitoring and operations **Qualifications** · Experience with Big Data Platforms, such as Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR or Apache Projects · Proven Cloud Platform Automation experience · Experience with OpenStack, or VMware for Infrastructure Automation and Orchestration, · Experience developing sophisticated Ansible scripts or utilizing Blueprints for solution deployment automation and support · Demonstrated scripting skills using Big Data tools, including HDFS, Spark, Hive, Python etc · Collaboration and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to gather requirements from software engineers and work with them to build solutions · Track record of success delivering global, complex and scalable infrastructure automation solutions · Experience navigating organizational growth and change **Desired Experiences:** · OpenStack, VMWare NSX / SDN · Mesos, Docker · DevOps **EMC Values:** When you choose our company, you join a diverse world of innovative thought leaders.
