Brief Description: Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding primarily through customer conference calls and presentations.

Detailed Description: Oracle Sales Consultants are a team of highly skilled solution architects who play a key role in driving sales of mission-critical software through both phone and onsite interaction with customers. Sales Consultants provide solution expertise to account managers on both qualified opportunities and within existing accounts. You will engage customers online and face-to-face in discovery sessions, architecture design, technical presentations, and Q&A related to Oracle technology solutions. Deep technical knowledge and hands on experience with Oracle or competitor products highly desirable. You will participate in account planning and strategy development, Rep training and peer training.
As a Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision, through online/in person sales efforts. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Reps and Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and value messaging. Present, articulate, and demonstrate advanced product features and benefits, product roadmap and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and complementary Oracle software products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver proposed solution to customers. Travel within US and Canada required approximately 10%-20% of time.

• Demos of database, cloud (IaaS and PaaS), big data, middleware, integration and security products
• Territory ownership though live and Online Customer Events - Hands-on Workshops, Virtual Classrooms, Virtual Labs, iSeminars

Sales Consultants have Expertise in the Following Areas:

• Oracle on Oracle value selling
• Competitive Displacement (Microsoft, IBM, Open Source, AWS)
• Proofs of Concept - Onsite and at Oracle Solution Center
• Strategy / Deal Reviews with sales teams
• General Product Expertise in the following products or competitors: Oracle Database, Weblogic, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Identity Management, Web Center, Hadoop, NoSQL, Oracle Public Cloud
• Experience with cloud deployments on Azure, AWS, or private clouds

Job Requirements: Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Must have thorough knowledge of enterprise software architectures and solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. Qualifications: 5 years technical pre-sales or customer facing experience with enterprise software. Oracle software experience highly desirable, competitive products also desirable. Excellent presentation skills and communications skills. Strong team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Dedication to success is a must. BA/BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.

Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver proposed solution to customers. Approximate percentage of face to face interaction with customers to perform responsibilities is 10%

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
