Oracle is building a new Infrastructure-as-a-Service IaaS Public Cloud, and is looking for exceptional engineers to join our Cloud Foundational Services team in the Bay Area.
The Cloud Foundational Services team is building out a next generation set of public infrastructure services, such as scalable load balancing, distributed storage, messaging, caching and more. You'll be part of a broader team building new datacenters, networking, and infrastructure. We are generalists who work in the big picture, who lead and are lead by each other every day.
What you will be working on:
Our team works at every layer of the stack, from REST API to OS kernel, and we are looking for teammates who are interested in touching every layer. This innovative team will be building some of the most critical features for the public cloud, and you can be certain that every customer will be touching your code.
What we are looking for in a Candidate:
An ideal candidate should be passionate about distributed systems, networking, infrastructure and cloud computing and excited to build something from the ground up. Candidates will need to possess deep CS fundamentals, as well as excel at written and verbal communication. You enjoy working with others in a fun, innovative setting, and others will enjoy working with you.
*BS/MS in Computer Science; level commensurate with experience
*Demonstrable experience with one of C/C /Java/Go/Node.js
*Strong experience with operating systems fundamentals and systems in general
*Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
*You are eager to tackle new projects that are continuously evolving.
*Deep distributed systems background (familiarity with CAP theorem, consensus, etc.)

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
