Current Need

We are looking for a Cloud Solution Engineer to work on a high visibility project within the organization and collaborate with a Cloud Solution delivery team that works with a DevOps mindset. This position is based out of our California-Emeryville office.

You will get a chance to work on advancing the processes and techniques we use to deliver great services; the latest cloud technology Microsoft has to offer; Hadoop based Data analytics solution. A sophisticated Platform as a Service application backed by a Fortune 5 company with high growth plans. Position Description

You will help build, deploy and support the solutions in public cloud. Some of your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Aligning with the vision and roadmap for cloud based services

  • Collaborate with the Cloud Solution delivery team to understand the technical requirements and ensure optimal alignment with the application and cloud architecture, and cloud based solution offering

  • Assist in the design and implementation of new services in the cloud

  • Collaborate with Cloud Solution Engineering team to ensure that the platform being built is robust and scalable

  • Ensure optimal health and performance of the application and solutions hosted on Azure

  • Design, develop and implement code for big data platform (such as Hadoop) based solution

  • Take ownership and assist the team in trouble shooting issues

  • Work in a team of highly professional individuals focused on innovative solutions and meeting quality and deadline requirements


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

5+ years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

A strong understanding of cloud (preferably Azure), big data technologies and internet

Experience building and deploying on a cloud platform such as Azure

Ability to define and refine efficient repeatable processes

Ability to crisply document and train appropriate audiences

Clear understanding of the following:

  • Continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous delivery
  • TeamCity or equivalent CI software
  • Github and Github branching models (or fork models)
  • Artifactory or equivalent package repo
  • Configuration mgmt tools such as DSC, Chef, Puppet
  • VM deploy software such as vagrant, ansible
  • Build tools such as Maven, SBT, msbuild

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge or interest in the behind the scenes world of health care

Platform as a Service (PaaS) applications experience

Experience with the following tools and technology (including Azure and Cloudera):

  • Azure Resource Manager Deployment Model and associated concepts and technologies

  • ARM Templates

  • PowerShell or Azure CLI

  • TeamCity

  • Azure Services including:

    • Storage : Blob / Tables / Queues

    • IaaS - Virtual Machines, Premium Storage, load balancers, NICs, availability sets

    • Networking

  • Cloudera – Reference Architecture, Deployment Packaging for conveyor jobs

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. MS is a plus.
