Are you an experienced and passionate Colors, Materials and Finishes (CMF) and Trend Professional with great experience leading teams to create CMF strategy and delivery award winning products? We're looking for a leader to join EDG and help create industry changing designs. You should be an expert in all things related to CMF, with relevant experience in understanding trends and consumer mindsets to craft strategy across our entire portfolio consisting of hundreds of products from accessories, tablets, notebooks, desktops to enterprise equipment. You should also be well versed in merchandising, business metrics, consumer behaviors, product development process, and production processes relevant to consumer electronicsROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The CMF Director will lead the CMF team responsible for strategy, incubation, and approvals. You will oversee our CMF process from strategy and creation, through incubation, testing, technical evaluation, and approval; to implementations and communication to key stakeholders in the business units. Your expertise should include a solid understanding of the material used in consumer electronics and a knowledge base of how colors and finishes are created in a variety of materials. You will also be working with our Quality, Procurement teams and manufacturing partners to ensure appropriate implementation on final product.REQUIREMENTS
-Undergraduate or Graduate Industrial Design, or CMF related degree and >15 years relevant experience, >5 years relevant experience either leading teams or leading process related to CMF strategy.
-Knowledge of color, material and finish solutions for multiple brands, creating focused program palettes, being up to date on relevant trends and technologies, and working cross-functionally to support vigorous and evolving timelines.
-Hands on Design Skills (Sketching, 3DCAD, Pro-Engineer, Creo2, Rendering, Lifestyle, CMF, Model, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
-Portfolio required which demonstrates your expertise in CMF strategy, and visual design/branding
-Up to date with the latest in interactive and visual design trends
-Capable of carrying a product from concept through development through English communication (written and verbal) story-tellingPREFERENCES
