Job Summary:


  • Set up and operate machine tools, applying shop mathematics and machining procedures to produce precision parts.



  • Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Use basic measurement equipment such as micrometers and calipers



  • Machine parts to specifications



  • Adjust equipment to achieve necessary outputs



  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using basic mathematics



  • Measure parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications



  • Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines



  • Monitor tool wear and replace as necessary during machine operation



  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to determine need for adjustments or repairs



  • Set up and program machine to manufacture basic parts per drawing provided with the work order.



  • Select proper speeds and feeds based on the material being machined to maximize efficiency.



  • Experience:


  • Minimum 1 year experience programming CNC lathe or mill



  • Minimum 1 year experience programming G&M code or Conversational controller



  • Education:


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred



  • Secondary training preferred � for example: Programming classes through CCAC or Technical School



  • Job Requirements Experience:
