Eaton in Beltsville, MD has an opening for a CNC Operator (Flanges).  Candidate must be capable of set-up and operation multiple CNC lathes. Produce and check quality of finished parts. Fully understands technical drawings, revisions and note codes, uses QC info.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrate all of the Manufacturing Associate II duties and furthermore be able to:
  • Ability to operate and set-up all machines with different controls in 3 or more cells
  • Can modify, edit, download and up load programs via DNC system to make multiple parts.
  • Displays multi-tasking skills and a positive attitude towards tasks assigned
  • Displays cell leadership attributes:
    • Pre-kitting for next job  
    • Provides assistance to other cell operators
    • Insures machines are not sitting idle
    • Displays leadership qualities with respect to 5-S
    • Encourages team work
    • Takes ownership for meeting tact time and daily production goals.
    • Capable of utilizing MFG-Pro modules relative to the jobs scheduled.
  • Takes a pro-active role with respect to process improvements and Kaizen activities
  • Willing to train and mentor lower level operators
  • Addresses scrap causes and corrective actions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum one year work experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Beltsville facility will be considered
  • All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S.Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year manufacturing / operations experience.
  • Minimum one year CNC experience
Position Criteria:
  • Operate machines, and any other calibration equipment such as calipers, Allen wrench, and air gun or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Job requires lifting a minimum of 25lbs or up to 50lbs on a daily basis, as well as standing on feet up to 8-10 hours per day. Constant use of hands is essential.
