Baker Hughes GE Inspection Technologies seeks a full-time CNC Tool Room Machinist position for our Advanced Inspection Solutions group & Tooling team. This position requires a highly skilled candidate capable of operating and programing manual tool room and CNC equipment. This candidate will coordinate with a cross-discipline development team to develop the most advanced handheld remote visual inspection (RVI) equipment in the world.
In the role of CNC Tool Room Machinist you will:
+ Efficiently set up and operate 3 - Axis Machining Centers and other types of precision Tool Room equipment. Quick changeover of set-ups is essential
+ Use advanced theories and concepts of CAD/CAM to provide the best solutions to machine precision components
+ Convert and assist translations from 3D CAD models, prints, written instructions, sketches and oral instructions into finished working mechanisms and assemblies
+ Use precision measuring equipment including use of microscope and Visual Inspection Measurement System (Smart Scope) for final inspections
+ Set machines to close tolerances and finish requirements, working on devices and parts having intricate irregular shapes.
+ Help enforce EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) procedures
+ Perform all necessary mathematical computations related to the dimensions, tolerances, set-up and speeds and feeds of parts and machines
+ Requires a high level knowledge of machine shop and tool room practices
+ Require extensive knowledge of the workability of ferrous, non-ferrous metals, plastics and other composite materials and their machining characteristics
+ Ability to work from limited design information or guidance in order to fabricate complex surfaced details. Interact with Engineers, Designers and Technicians to review and clarify job requirements
+ Associates Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manual machining, CNC manual G-Code programing, CAM programming, setup and operation of tool room and CNC equipment)
+ Minimum 3 years' experience in manual machining, CNC manual G-Code programing, CAM programming, setup and operation of tool room and CNC equipment
+ An accredited Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
+ Knowledge of SolidWorks, CAM Works experience or equivalent software required
+ Computer skills including SAP, Outlook, Word and Excel
