This position is responsible for cleaning and doing simple cosmetic upgrades to cable boxes. This may include using hand tools (ex. screw drivers or electric drills) to remove/install covers, replacing screens, putting rubber stoppers on the bottom of the units, and some simple cleaning of the units. Cleaning the units involves using blower vacuums to remove dust and dirt, and wiping the units down with an all-purpose cleaning agent (Simple Green). Candidates in this position must be comfortable with standing for the majority of their shift, using RF handheld scanners, be able to lift up to 12 lbs (per box), have excellent manual dexterity, and have a strong attention for detail. This role requires some simple decision making skills because the refurber is responsible for visually qualifying a unit for what needs to be replaced.
This position is responsible for running tests on different test equipment (Raptors, Gens, CMTx, etc). This requires loading units onto carts or test trays, plugging them in to the test equipment, and running a computer program that either clears the box of any code, or runs the diagnostic testing. Candidates in these roles must have strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs, be very detailed oriented, have strong manual dexterity, and be able to self manage themselves. This role requires time management between multiple test systems (ex. loading one tester while another is running). Candidates must be comfortable with standing for the majority of their shift, bending to plug in units, and lifting up to 12 lbs (per box).
These positions would include Gens, Raptors, Refurb, CMTX and Final Test
