Commercial Loan Portfolio Risk Analysis Associate
Capital One's Commercial Bank contains an approximately $70 Billion (exposure) loan portfolio that has grown by virtue of three acquisitions (North Fork, Hibernia, and Chevy Chase). The commercial portfolio consists of Commercial Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial, and Commercial Specialty loans with customers located primarily on the East Coast of the United States.
This role is part of the COF commercial banking credit risk management organization. As an analyst, the person will be asked to perform a variety of tasks that involve data manipulation and credit analysis. Candidate is expected to deliver complex analyses under high level direction.
-Analysis of CRE markets to identify risks/opportunities
-Quarterly process to score markets/submarkets in CRE using data available through various external data providers
-Run Monte-Carlo Simulation model to identify downturn resilience of the CRE portfolio
-Conduct ad-hoc market analysis to understand impact of current events (e.g. Global slowdown, Home ownership rate, Online spending in retail etc) on our CRE portfolio
-Prepare and present complex concepts and results to management
-Collaborate as independent contributor with cross functional teams
-Excellent problem solving and critical thinking ability
-Excellent communication skills
-Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, science, engineering or Military experience
-At least 1 year of experience in financial services OR at least 1 year of experience in quantitative analytics
-1 year of work experience in banking
-1+ years of experience conducting statistical analysis
