PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Pricing Leader partners with Commercial Leaders and sales teams to develop and execute segment price strategies that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term business objectives. This position will be an integral part of the Insulation business. Working closely with the Director of Pricing & Business Planning, executing the stated price strategy for ISB will be a key deliverable. The position will interface with field sales to address competitive price situations, complete territory/geographic analysis, and drive continuous improvement in the pricing process. The Pricing Leader will be a dynamic leader within the business by providing valuable decision support analysis and driving business success.
This position reports to the Director of Pricing & Business Planning.

Reports to: Director of Pricing & Business Planning
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Influence the performance of the business segment to maximize price realization and contribute to the EBIT targets
  • Analyze markets across channels, assess competitive activity & volume/share positions, and assist with finance to forecast price & revenue.
  • Provide decision support by financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting.
  • Evaluate financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advise management accordingly to ensure targeted financial performance achievement.
  • Participate in the development of strategic and operational objectives for the segment that are aligned to Corporate and Group strategic objectives.
  • Create analysis using the Business Information System to drive the financial performance of the business segment.

2. Drive Execution of Pricing Strategy Work
Executes the pricing strategy of the business
  • Works closely with Director of Pricing & Business Planning to develop national, regional and customer pricing strategies and ensures that we are executing to these pricing strategies in our daily activities
  • Performs analysis of where we are following overall pricing strategy and challenges the sales force in the areas where we are falling short
Customer Programs
  • Works closely with Director of Pricing & Business Planning to develop customer program strategy that will drive profitable growth
  • Create robust analysis of customer programs to determine which programs are delivering value and which need to be revised
  • Drives execution with sales force to ensure that they are in compliance our program strategy
Pricing Market Trends
  • Develops process to gather pricing market Intel and effectively communicates market trends to business leadership
  • Improves ability of the business to proactively manage price based on market conditions
  • Understands the market dynamics across all channels and manages with the broader perspective in mind
Partner with Sales Force to maximize price performance
  • Build rapport with the RVP's and RSL's that results in effectively managing volume and price relationship
  • Builds business acumen of RSL's and ASM's through use of analytics of their respective regions
  • Makes customer visits with sales force to understand market dynamics and understand customer perspective to drive profitable growth
  • Develops and leads Pricing Intelligence analytics that will be pushed to the sales force to allow them to "compete on analytics"

3. Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Improve the cycle time for price requests turnaround to improve the customer experience
  • Improve invoice accuracy to a sustainable rate of 95%
  • Develop appropriate Level of Authority approval process

4. Lead across the Company and business group
  • Live the Safety stand, adhering to safety responsibilities.
  • Team with others across the Company, business group and Finance function to maximize performance of Owens Corning and lead change.
  • Acts as a resource to business leaders by teaching financial acumen and business information concepts to ensure that financial based decision making occurs.
  • Share business and financial best practices across the segment, group and Company.

  • Feedback from Residential Insulation leaders
  • Waste elimination that leads to cost reduction across the business group and Finance function
5. Leading & Developing Talent
  • Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people
  • Invests in the growth and development of their direct reports and other identified talent in their organization. Engaged in personal development
  • Directly leads the team of two Commercial Financial Analysts
JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with an MBA preferred
  • Commercial experience preferred
  • Success in a market-facing role with direct customer interaction
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated process focus and organized work style
  • Experience functioning in a highly-matrixed structure across functional, business, geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements
  • Experience developing business cases and enrolling leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action
  • Experience with SAP, Business Information, and high level of Excel expertise required
  • Demonstrated rate of growth and success in prior roles
  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen
  • Corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles, understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint) skills
  • Develops and uses knowledge of customers, competition, and the market to drive business decisions
