Community Liaison
Visiting Physicians Association, a national leader in delivering home based primary care, works with home health and hospice agencies to ensure patients receive continuity of care in the home environment. VPA in-home physicians collaborate with agencies to establish in-home treatment plans and certify the need for services. VPA partners with over 1,000 home health agencies, collaborates with independent and assisted living communities, and works with skilled nursing facilities and hospitals nationally to coordinate services and patient transitions to home care.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Community Liaison is an individual who works with the community to explain the services offered and provided by Visiting Physicians Association (VPA). This position is responsible for selling VPA Services in a defined market or territory and represents the organization through the community. The Community Liaison will oversee sales activities, including account identification and development, as well as servicing and growing referrals and potential accounts. Accounts are defined as physicians, facilities, hospitals, group homes, and in some instances, case managers. Additional accounts include community organizations, such as community groups, church groups, senior centers, chronic disease support groups, and any other community organizations which may have influence over VPA. All sales activities will be in accordance with the company business plan strategies for each market. The Community Liaison works under minimal supervision and has a flexible work schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reaches out to physicians and facilities, such as hospitals, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, facility discharge planning, and assisted living
  • Develops and maintains contact with key community and consumer organizations, to provide education and ongoing updates on VPA services and benefits available
  • Utilizes appropriate company resources to maintain and develop business opportunities. Maintains market awareness and prepares competitive updates
  • Makes sales calls, arranges appointments, and delivers programs to keep referral sources current in VPA service offerings
  • Complies with field activity documentation and reporting requirements through database management and reports field activity to management
  • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Active CPR Certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or a Health related degree
  • Previous sales/marketing experience
  • Excellent organization, problem solving skills, and the ability to appropriately represent company service capabilities to the targeted referral source
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and territory management
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and customer service skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and attend sales meetings as required
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • One year of healthcare related industry experience
  • Prior experience in with Hospice or Home Care
