Primary responsibilities include consultation, project management and project execution of compensation projects for clients.
Sourcing and pursuing client project opportunities;
Project Management and Client Relationship Management;
Design or redesign compensation plans, to include performing job evaluations – including salary grade models, create compensation guidance tools, and advise clients on client compensation policies and practices;
Design and deliver compensation training, work with clients on reorganizations, job design and redesign, job evaluation and market pricing, etc;
Consult on design and administration of compensation programs to achieve business goals and effectively manage the workforce;
Design incentive plans or alternative reward systems to include non-qualified deferred compensation plans/SERP. Analyze incentive plan structures (analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of incentive plans), compensation structures; identify opportunities to improve alignment and strengthen plan design;
Oversee the analysis of executive and non-executive salary and incentive structures, evaluate findings, and recommend changes;
Knowledge and application of relevant IRC, DOL, SEC, and SOX regulations
Design and evaluation of stock option plans;
Interact regularly with clients and assist as a client advisor, including attending project meetings, building and maintaining client relationships, and being proactive in anticipating client needs and questions;
Execute and delivery of high quality, accurate projects;
Present at and facilitate client Board and Compensation Committee meetings;
Analyze executive compensation programs for mergers and acquisition targets; and
Business development and relationship building for all firm service lines.
BS/BA in a business-related field – ideally with emphasis in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CCP desired, ACCP or MCCP preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible consulting and business experience at the Senior Consultant level, involving data analysis, financial modeling, program design, or compensation program administration.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a consulting role. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in compensation consulting in such areas as base salary structures, incentive compensation, and executive compensation plan design.
Understanding and demonstrated experience with working with multiple clients simultaneously.
Ability to anticipate and address client concerns and issues.
Comfortable leading projects as well as collaborating with larger team.
Understanding of Securities and Exchange (SEC) regulations in executive compensation.
Knowledge of deferred compensation and 409(a) guidelines.
Previous experience with tax-exempt originations and intermediate sanctions.
Ability to travel 25-30%
