-Sets up, coordinates, & monitors the operation of computer equipment, applications & proactive monitoring tools in a centralized environment. -Responds to system hardware & application failures, reports & documents any malfunctions and/or observed deviations from standard performance; works with support teams or vendors to restore services or minimize impact to the business. -Examines, revises, approves & dispatches input & output materials according to established specifications. -Performs required clerical tasks including data processing and/or file manipulation & maintenance in the data processing function. -Examines, revises, approves & dispatches input & output materials according to established specifications. -Manipulates controls in accordance with standard procedures, using established programs & procedures; runs diagnostic tests to detect machine malfunctions, & monitors control panels, magnetic tape units, & other peripheral equipment. -Performs recovery procedures, scheduling & backups, media rotations (tape or other) as necessary, & monitors batch processes. May be involved in restoring files or systems by designing, writing & implementing backup procedures. -Provides moderate hardware break/fix and/or associated hands on support for vendors and/or vendor escort. -These positions may be on varying shifts & cross-shift work may be required. May be required to work on holidays as well.
