Configuration Management - Build and Release Engineer Lead - Reston, VA

We are looking for Build and Release Engineer who is expert in Configuration management, automated deployments, and Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI /CD) frameworks & build environments for DevOps, Staging and Production. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding or Oracle Databases.


Responsibilities:
  • Experience in deploying/maintaining/migrating Java, and PL/SQL code
  • A clear understanding of the practice driven around and the development of Oracle Based platform
  • Experience in the implementation of Code deployment - includes an understanding of best practices, implementation strategies (e.g. SVN / GIT branch strategies) and integration strategies and analysis of related tools.
  • Well versed with automation and provisioning frameworks
  • Experience developing and implementing automating deployment frameworks
  • Well versed with and working knowledge of other associated software deployment tools - SCM (GIT), CI tools (Jenkins CI), Artifact repositories (Issue management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Crowd)
  • Working knowledge of the following scripting languages: Python, Bash
  • Working knowledge of the PL/SQL, Oracle Database concepts
  • Working knowledge of the following software tools: Maven, Eclipse
  • Design best practices for build and release process and tooling
  • Take charge of automating steps in our build and release systems
  • Oversee daily responsibility of build execution for various systems/releases
  • Lead agile practice implementation for project SDLC
  • Experience in Oracle Suite of Products
  • Advanced experience in automation tools and best practices.
Skills Required:
  • BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field
  • Experience developing and automating deployment tools to support Oracle Database development frameworks, such as Apex, ORDS
  • Well versed with automation and provisioning frameworks
  • Solid understanding of CI best practices and tooling, preferably Jenkins
  • Strong experience in Release Management, Configuration Management branching, merging, and integration strategies
  • Well versed with and working knowledge of other associated software deployment tools:
    • SCM (SVN, GIT), CI tools (Jenkins CI), Build tools (Ant,Maven, Gradle), Artifact repositories (ArtiFactory), Issue management tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Extensive experience in building JAVA Web/Mobile Systems
  • Well versed in using Linux, Unix and Solaris operating systems
  • Detailed knowledge of Configuration Management discipline
  • Self-starter with ability to lead processes and projects
  • Thorough knowledge of Scripting with Bash/Shell, and Python
  • Strong organizational, communication skills and detail oriented

Qualifications:
Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of software engineering or related experience needed.
