The Consultant Solutions Systems Engineer-Network reports to the Austin Site Engineering Manager and is responsible for design, configuration and validation of the Dell Networking switch infrastructure for Dell EMC Azure Stack Engineered Systems. This Engineer will work directly with Dell Networking engineering groups, Azure Stack Engineering teams and Microsoft to ensure a compliant and robust network architecture that will scale to Dell EMC and customer need. The Network Engineer will work with partners within the Dell EMC Infrastructure Solutions Group to identify any gaps or issues in the network components or architecture. This Solution Network Systems Principal Engineer is the Subject Matter Expert for Azure Stack network and configuration requirements as well as Dell Networking technologies and roadmaps.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Azure Stack networking requirements. Negotiate updates and changes where required.
+ Enhance existing Azure Stack network architecture to incorporate technology or Dell EMC content additions.
+ Support Solution validation, test and infrastructure automation utilizing network best practices and tools.
+ Communicate networking designs, configuration requirements, progress and issues to Dell EMC team and Microsoft networking engineers as appropriate.
+ Consult with solution architects and technical marketing to provide solution and networking white papers or technical marketing content as needed.
+ Support pre and post sales teams with customer specific network configuration recommendations.
**Skills & Qualifications**
+ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
+ Expert knowledge of Network protocols and technologies
+ Experience using, installing and configuring Dell Networking products.
+ Experience or certifications with Cisco products is a plus
+ Experience Network planning and implementation in large and medium data center environments
+ Must have an expert understanding of networking concepts and security associated with them, LAN/WAN/MPLS/Internet and associated technologies such as Firewalls/Load Balancers and GLBP
+ Undergraduate degree and 8-10 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience.
+ Travel: 10%
