**Principal Scrum Master**

As a core team leader, the Scrum Master guides processes and execution, escalates impediments, manages risk, and promotes continuous improvement in their teams. Exposure to scaled agile practices would provide additional insight to better understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with aligning a large software program with the guiding business strategy.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
+ Guide the team on how to realize the maximum benefits of self-organization
+ Drive scrum team continuous improvement via restrospectives and demonstration of a Kaizen mindset.
+ Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog to facilitate sprint planning preparedness (definition, refinement, scoping) to ensure that each team has an actionable, prioritized backlog.
+ Facilitate scrum planning ceremonies.
+ Provide daily leadership and coaching team members, in the successful adoption and application of agile practices.
+ Encourage scrum team quality practices – including Agile architecture, continuous integration, acceptance test driven development (ATDD), and collective ownership.
+ Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
+ Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
+ Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
+ Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
+ Facilitate team collaboration with Technical Lead and System Architect to ensure high quality technical delivery.
•Proven ability to deliver software features iteratively and reliably.
•Strong understanding of iterative development processes, including quality and testing best practices
•Have supported multiple scrum teams, and can influence decision makers.
•Desire to work collaboratively with Agile teams and their stakeholders
•Strong servant-leadership skills
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including understanding of technical writing requirements
•Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills
•3-5 years of successful Scrum Master leadership working with more than 1 team
•Have influenced an agile adoption through your coaching skills from a process improvement perspective with successful results
•Used agile skills to guide teams to produce complex software products
•Bachelors (Technical preferred)
•First level Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM I)
•One or more advanced agile certifications preferred
