Performs various duties in support of provider contracting and
provider data maintenance for multiple client Independent Physicians
Associations (IPAs) who are contracted to HMOs on a capitated basis. Such
duties include data entry of new or changed contracted provider information,
responding to HMOs’ disputes over financial responsibility for specific medical
claims, reviewing/validating claims paid by the HMOs on behalf of the IPAs when
such disputes are not resolved, auditing claims detail under shared risk
arrangements between the IPAs and HMOs, running various reports from the
provider data base, receiving and processing provider requests to contract with
the IPA, and securing single patient Letters of Agreement with non-contracted
providers, as requested. Other duties as requested. Position
reports to the Director of Contracting.
Entry level experience.Critical Skills
Prefer experience working for an IPA or HMO in provider
relations, network relations, or provider contracting. Basic familiarity
with CPT and HCPCS codingAdditional Knowledge & Skills
May have knowledge of the law; Typing, basic reading, writing, and math skills, including being able to calculate percentages Education
