JOB DESCRIPTION
Contract Specialist Position
Job Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate a variety of contracts and other legal documents with a focus on product sale agreements, non-disclosure agreements, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and other documents with external customers and suppliers
• Identify and interpret contractual provisions to analyze possible legal and business exposure and to ensure that the company's contract terms are being followed
• Understanding of legal terminology, including, warranties, limitation of liability, and indemnification
• Serves as a central point of contact to facilitate contractual activities from inception to completion
• Advise business contacts on compliance with company legal policies and procedures
• Assist with legal research projects as necessary
• Communicate effectively with individuals both inside and outside of the Airgas organization in particular external customers
• Maintain an awareness of regulatory requirements applicable to Airgas contracts
• Assist in the review of existing Airgas contract templates to identify areas requiring updating to ensure compliance with applicable laws and the company's policies
• Ensuring that documents are ready for signature (such as, accurately reflecting any underlying paperwork, and use of correct entities and forms)
• Assisting with requests from the field for document conversion and comparison or other high level word processing items
• Providing guidance and direction on document process, such as identifying correct forms to use
• Assisting with the rollout process of an agreement


General Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interface and communicate effectively with a large number of diverse internal groups, including all levels of employees, in-house legal counsel, external legal counsel, customers, consultants and vendors
• Strong organizational, analytical and drafting skills, including attention to detail and a pragmatic, problem-solving mind-set
• Ability to work independently, as well as in team situations
• Understanding of legal formalities, terms and principles
• Ability to perform legal and/or factual research in a timely manner and organize findings appropriately
• Ability to be flexible and adaptive in handling urgent matters
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and similar software
• Strong working knowledge of internet-based research tools
