:  Assistant Vice President/ Controller responsible for financial reporting related to MetLife Investment Management’s Real Estate Managed Account portfolio.  Responsibilities include providing oversight and review of financial information, cash, and internal controls performed by the external Accounting Administrator, partnering with Portfolio and Asset Management teams to execute Investment Strategy, and interfacing with external clients on financial matters.  Position will oversee team and perform functions critical to effectively managing the Real Estate Managed Account platform for MetLife Investment Management.

 

Dimensions:

  • Managed Account Platform approx. $9 billion of gross real estate assets under management.
  • Multi-product investment management platform with targeted asset under management of over $60 billion over the near term horizon
  • Targeted investment management revenue in excess of $100 million
  • Combined General Account and third party assets under management in excess of $885 billion
  • Targeted to raise $10 billion in Real Estate equity and mortgages in Open ended Core Funds and Managed Accounts

 

 

  1. Oversee and execute financial functions related to Investment Management accounts as well as oversight of functions provided by external administrators, including financial information and statement review and approval, and ensure Administrator compliance with established policies and procedures.
  2. Key contact on communications with Investment Management Portfolio Management and clients on matters primarily related to Capital Accounts, Financial results, and other requests for financial related information. 
  3. Partner with Portfolio Management, Asset Management and Investor Services teams to manage portfolios, execute strategy, and respond to client needs.  Also provide support and respond to information requests from Investments Finance, Executive Operations, Internal Auditors, Risk Management, and others as needed.

 

 

  • 10+ years experience in Investments and/or Finance.  CPA and/or MBA Preferred.
  • Experience in third party Investments Fund Management, with Real Estate or Private Equity Funds experience
  • Strong Communication skills, highly analytical and well organized
  • Team management experience
