Controls Engineer

Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our client in the automotive manufacturing industry in Oakwood, GA for the position of Controls Engineer. Qualified candidates for this role will have a background in the automotive industry, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and preferrable be Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified. The duties and responsibilities of this position include: Directly responsible for design, development and installation of numerous types of equipment. Experience with completing a PPAP of equipment meeting required rates and abiding by all electrical, pneumatic and mechanical specs. Implement preventive maintenance programs Responsible for support of production equipment, process improvements, capital spending, and equipment layout. Responsible for creating and updating action plans accordingly Requirements and qualifications: Experience in high volume machining/ manufacturing environment. Experience with PLC based controls, transfer lines, dials, and conveyor systems as well as the tooling and fixturing of equipment. Troubleshooting and use of diagnostic equipment preferred. SPC experience preferred. Proficient in 5S and other lean principles Automotive experience preferred. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong communication skills. Primary Assembly Controls used include but not limited: Processors: AB SLC 504; Logix 500 and Logix 5000; Communication: AB RS Linx; Ethernet IP; DH+; RS232; Device Net Vision: Keyence and Cognex; Database: FT Transaction Manager; FT Historian; FT Vantagepoint; FT Asset Centre. Industrial Networking experience preferred Experience with periphery devices a plus. (Torque Drivers, Leak Testers, Load Cells, etc.) Educational requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering. Six Sigma Greenbelt certification a plus. Work Conditions: Majority of time spent on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection, also requires safety glasses and steel toed shoes Occasional weekends required on a rotating on call basis Physical Demands Must be able to move around the production floor 75% of the time The person in this position needs to also be able to move about the office to access office equipment, attend meetings etc. Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer 60% of the time.
