Corporate Banking Relationship Manager 2

Job Description

The Associate helps support a relationship team that services a credit portfolio ranging from small, private to large, public E&P companies. The candidate will assist with transactions that include complex, debt/equity financial solutions that may be focused on bridge underwritings, M&A transactions and sponsor related opportunities as well as small, bilateral facilities and routine renewals. The Associate monitors the credit quality of the portfolio and helps to underwrite new and existing credits including identification of key risk factors as well as the development of financial projection models. He/She is actively involved in the preparation of all credit approval documents, including due diligence, risk analysis, risk rating, underwriting, presentations to credit and coordination with product partners when applicable. The Associate also works with the relationship team to develop effective calling strategies for existing clients and prospects. He/she will partner with the relationship team and product partners to identify and execute cross-sell opportunities with new and existing clients. The Associate will engage in direct client contact as well as credit, product partner and counsel discussion. He/she will also help develop junior team members and encourage a collaborative and team oriented work environment.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, credit, relationship management, or portfolio management; or successful completion of Wholesale Credit Management Training Program

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Formal credit training and previous experience in commercial and/or corporate banking
