Job Summary:

 

The Corporate Communications Manager – Consulting is responsible for managing internal and external communications for RSM’s consulting line of business.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Develop internal communications strategies, tactics and deliverables to engage, motivate and align employees with the goals of the consulting practice in alignment with RSM’s vision, purpose, values and strategies, including directly supporting the leader with his/her communications

  • Working with the public relations director and outside agency, develop media relations strategies for the consulting practice, train spokespeople, build relationships with local or trade reporters and coordinate interviews. Seek to actively position RSM as a leading firm through the media in consulting.

  • Develop compelling external content for consulting, including whitepapers, byline articles and other thought leadership. Assist with development/maintenance of content for firm's web pages in assigned areas.

  • Maintain intranet content and presence and help facilitate/monitor Yammer discussion groups for consulting.

  • Collaborate with counterparts on the public relations team and in other functional areas (marketing, IT, human resources, finance, etc.) to ensure that communications are planned, sequenced and integrated across the enterprise.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure activities are aligned and effectively communicated to all key stakeholder groups.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Journalism

 

Experience:

 

  • 7+ years of corporate communications experience; demonstrated experience defining and managing communications strategy for a business unit; effective presentation and communication skills; ability to learn new subject areas quickly. (required)

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (required)

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required)

  • SharePoint (preferred)

  • HTML (preferred)



Leadership Skills:

 

  • Highly collaborative and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to

           achieve results (required)

  • Ability to coach executives in developing compelling messaging and

          delivering effective communications (required)
